Kelly recently celebrated her 10-year anniversary and is proud of the work she does for Goodwill. “Of all my experiences here, it’s the friends I’ve made that I treasure most,” said Kelly. “And I feel like the work we do here is important and helps others in the community.”
They say only a dream comes to sleeping men. Not so for Javan Holly, who was sleeping under the bridge one summer day when a Goodwill worker awoke him, offering refreshments and a helping hand to turn his life around.
Thirty-eight year old Alicia Torres has
been breaking down barriers since she was a child. The youngest of six
children, she’s a two-time winner of the Junior Special Olympics and a star
employee at the Kenner Goodwill Retail Store & Donation Center.
Edward Jones, known warmly as “Mr. Moe,” has never let adversity get in the way of living life to the fullest. “Every day is a good day,” says Mr. Moe who knows all the regular customers by name. He joined Goodwill’s Esplanade store and donation center team in 2006
Before coming to Goodwill Industries of Southeastern Louisiana, Inc., 27-year-old Adell Stepter never had a job. Today, he’s one of Goodworks’ most dependable and punctual employees and has missed only one day of work in his eight years
Andrew Johnson came to Goodwill Industries after his former employer lost the contract at the Navel Air Base. It’s been 10 years since he joined the team, yet Andrew still arrives at work every day with a smile on his face and a contagious enthusiasm.
