Goodwill offers an array of specialized broadband courses to train individuals in a variety of connectivity technologies. Each course is 45 hours and offered at Goodwill Industries of Southeastern Louisiana, Inc., Suite 1000, in New Orleans. Participants receive national certification upon completion of each course.

Goodwill to Offer Free Financial Literacy Classes

June 9, 2014

Beginning June 1, Goodwill Industries® of Southeastern Louisiana will offer a free course teaching participants about budgeting, banking, financial goal setting, identify theft, housing and more. The course, called Money Matter$, will be taught on Fridays, from 9 a.m. until Noon, at Goodwill’s Training & Employment Center at 3400 Tulane Avenue, Suite 1000, in New Orleans. Although classes are free, registration is required and can be made by contacting Pamela Williams at 504-456-2622, extension 1169.dmullins@goodwillno.org.

Goodwill Announces Seven Days of Spring Cleaning

More than 70 percent of Americans engage in the annual tradition of spring cleaning, according to a 2013 survey by the American Cleaning Institute. But one of the most common dilemmas for spring cleaners is what to do with all that stuff. As the green movement grows, consumers are increasingly concerned about reusing and recycling. At Goodwill®, we collect used items and put the revenues from their sales toward job creation for people with disabilities and other disadvantaging conditions. To get this year’s spring cleaning season off to a fresh start, we’ve compiled the Seven Days of Spring Cleaning Guide, making it easier than ever to clean out your home and make a difference here in Southeastern Louisiana by donating used goods.

Goodwill Industries® to Host Open House, March 19 for Employers, Church Organizations and Nonprofits

Goodwill Industries® of Southeastern Louisiana, Inc., will host an Open House, 8 a.m. – 10 a.m., on March 19, at its Employment & Training Center, located at 3400 Tulane Avenue (corner of Tulane and Jefferson Davis Parkway), Suite 1000, in New Orleans. Tulane Avenue Goodwill Store Reopening December 16!

The Goodwill Store at 3400 Tulane Avenue is currently closed for renovations but will reopen for regular business on Monday, December 16, at 9AM! Please visit some of our nearby locations in the interim for shopping and donating to Goodwill.

Due to shopper demand and the changing seasons, donations to Goodwill are down, while the demand for our job training programs remains high. Goodwill Industries of Southeastern Louisiana is urging people to donate clothing and other items to their nearest Goodwill retail store or donation center.
