TorresThirty-eight year old Alicia Torres has been breaking down barriers since she was a child. The youngest of six children, she’s a two-time winner of the Junior Special Olympics and a star employee at the Kenner Goodwill Retail Store & Donation Center. Alicia came to Goodwill in 2004 and has worked her way up from sorting donations to running the hard-line house-wares section and children’s books area. With a job coach on hand serving as both mentor and friend, Alicia works five days a week and welcomes each work day with a smile and can-do attitude. Goodwill gives Alicia a daily sense of adventure and independence and she in turn touches the hearts of countless customers and employees with her warm smile and vivacious spirit.

Goodwill Industries Week Celebrates
63 Years of Service in Southeast Louisiana -
As it commemorates Goodwill Industries® Week (May 2 – 8) and 63 years of service, Goodwill Industries of Southeastern Louisiana, Inc. (Goodwill) is seeking donations of gently used clothing, house-wares and monetary pledges so it can continue to provide job training programs, employment placement services and other community-based programs for people who need them most.
