Kelly
Parr“..The Work We Do Helps Others in the
Community”Goodwill roots run deep in Kelly’s family
tree. Her grandfather’s served on Goodwill’s board of directors and
her mother is an advocate for the rights of individuals with
disabilities. So when it came time for her to enter the world of
work, Goodwill seemed like a good fit for Kelly, who has autism.
Initially shy and unsure of herself, Kelly soon blossomed into
one of Goodwill’s MVPs. She works independently in the processing
areas and helps train new employees on the floor. “Goodwill gave
Kelly the confidence and support to succeed in the workplace,” said
Patricia, Kelly’s mother.
Kelly recently celebrated her
10-year anniversary and is proud of the work she does for Goodwill.
“Of all my experiences here, it’s the friends I’ve made that I
treasure most,” said Kelly. “And I feel like the work we do here is
important and helps others in the community.”.
